Cast: Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Samuel L. Jackson and more

Premiere date: April 4, 2014

Description: Based on the Marvel Comic Book

Critique:

There is a new and hidden threat in S.H.I.E.L.D. and it is up to Captain America and Black Widow to uncover it before it destroys them and everything that S.H.I.L.D. stands for. Samuel L. Jackson is back as Nick Fury with a new hero Falcon that works with Captain America and Black Widow to destroy their common enemy. However, that proves to be harder than what it seems. When the movie goes back into Captain America’s past and exposed a ghost that provide to create a moral dilemma for Captain America. In the end, it is Captain America’s decision that will show the audience that even gods/ heroes bleed with emotions.

If you are looking for action and drama then look no further than Captain America and the Winter Solider. The only thing that I regret about this movie is the lack of romance between Captain America and Black Widow. So my message to the writers for Captain America three is doesn’t neglect the love story that you hinted at in this movie. Overall, I give this movie W.O.W. Radio 5 stars.

Indie Music Review: "To Be Loved" by Whitney Tai

Artist Name: Whitney Tai
Track Title: "To Be Loved"
Genre: Pop
Location: New York
Lyrics (words of the song): 5 stars
Delivery (how the song is expressed; expressive style): 5 stars
Sound Quality (accuracy, enjoyability, or intelligibility of the audio output): 5 stars
Diction (style of speaking; pronunciation and enunciation): 5 stars
Music Bed (beat, background music): 4 stars
Theme (topic or idea of the song): 4 stars

Most notable thing about the project? Whitney Tai's debut album (which will include "To Be Loved") is targeted for a release towards the end of the summer. Whitney has very strong vocals, which is a testament to how she has been able to gain such a following with only 1 song having been officially released. She undoubtedly has enough talent to compete with any major artist out there.
Would you buy this project? If this is a sign to come, then I would absolutely buy the project.
Suggestions to better project? It's hard to make suggestions at this time with only one single to go off of. I hope that she continues with the Dance Pop songs, but also maybe songs that give her a chance to show more range, as well.
Provide a summary of your thoughts concerning this track/album: The track is actually very unique, in some ways, it almost feels like a call back to 90's dance pop songs (it vaguely reminds me of Jennifer Lopez's smash, "Waiting For Tonight).
The lyrics are surprisingly kind of dark for a Dance song, which in turn, makes the song that much more accessible, as it definitely strays from a typical, cookie-cutter format. While I wouldn't call it the most lyrical song, it does a great job of hitting it's target with the words and cadences chosen.
The production is very on target, as is the sound quality. But Whitney's vocals are definitely the star of this track. Her voice is strong, clear, and manages to even be uplifting during the chorus, giving legitimacy to a Dance track that has pretty dark lyrics otherwise. I can't wait to hear the different ways she shows off that voice of hers in future songs.

As far as looks, style, and outright vocal ability, Whitney seems poised to have a shot at super stardom.

Winne Mandala movie review

Powerful story of Winnie Mandala finally comes to the movies
There is a saying among great men and it is “Behind every great man is an even greater woman.”  These women allow their husbands to achieve their goals. One such great woman is Winnie Mandela. Her story of love, power, struggle, personal and political triumphs, and suffering has been for too long ignored and forgotten, but that has all changed with this movie.
Winnie Mandela, which is the movie’s title, tells the story of a young woman who was the sixth girl (out of how many siblings?) in her family. She received the spiritual name of Nomzamo Winfreda Zanyiwe Madikizela from her father. Despite the state’s refusal to educate blacks in South Africa, she was able to earn a degree in social work from Jan Hofmeyer School in Johannesburg. She also earned an international relations degree at the University of Witwatersrand. Eventually she became the first black social worker during apartheid-era South Africa. Even with all of these achievements under her belt, the greatest was yet to come. The year of 1957 would change Winnie’s life forever! For it was the year that she met a sharp lawyer and activist named Nelson Mandela.
This is the part of her life that really is forgotten, but is depicted very well in the movie. Before Winn and Nelson were married and fighting for a free South Africa, they were just two ordinary young people who were in love and wanted to start a family. However, all of that change when Nelson and his friends decided to take on the apartheid government of South Africa! Police harassment started at their wedding with police officers following their wedding ceremony from beginning to end. Once the Mandela’s returned home, they ransacked their house.  This treatment of harassment continued with the Mandela’s until Nelson was release from prison some 27 years later!
Her autobiographical movie clearly shows the audience how her strength , her belief in a free South Africa, allowed her to become the power of the people, her love for Nelson Mandela uplifted him while he remained in prison, her fierceness kept their dream for a free South Africa alive, and her refusal to accept defeat freed a nation! These elements are why the apartheid government of South Africa crumbled all those years ago!
This is one of the most powerful and inspirational movies that I have seen in a long time. I heartily recommend every black woman to see with their girlfriends, mothers, and daughters. So they can see, learn, become inspired and feel the struggle of what it took for South Africa to be truly free. This is something that all Africans and African-Americans can relate to our struggle in the United States of getting equal rights during the Civil Rights Movement. Even to this day we are still fighting the good fight in getting social justice, affordable housing, equal jobs opportunities, and education in today’s world.
In essences, Winnie’s autobiographical movie shows how much the fight is still continuing to this day, but also how the fight for social justices and equal rights on two different contents were fought by both great men and great women!

Movie Review: Thor: The Dark World

Movie Title: Thor the Dark World

Category: Drama

Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba

Release date: November 8, 2013

Description: Thor is back to save both the world and his love Jane Foster from the dark elves.

Critique:

Thor is back with a bang! He is out to protect and save his lady love and the nine realms! Thor is back on Asgard where he is putting the realms back together after what his brother Loki did during the invasion of Earth in the Avengers’ movie. Meanwhile, his mortal love Jane Foster is still looking for him and in her search ends up stumbling across another dimension where an evil force of energy was put eons ago by Thor’s grandfather. Jane is possessed by this force and she needs Thor to help her! Thor himself is also in a fight for his live because he not only has to save Jane but also earth as well.

This movie is great! It gives the audience a love story, sacrifice, and redemption. This movie is something that everyone can relate to and at the same time be envious of the love story between Thor and Jane Foster. Thor has been so successful that there is already talk about a third Thor coming out in 2016 or 2017. The only thing I hope for in Thor III is Jane and Thor get married and she becomes a goddess and they have to face some evil force of the universe together. I must tell you that I loved this movie! I loved it so much that I saw it twice! I have not done that with a movie since X- Men the Last Stand and the Avengers!

I give this movie a W.O.W Radio five stars. Go and see this movie you will not regret it and by the way go and see it in 3D because the visual effects are awesome!!!!!!
